Zenobia was one of the most well known Syrian and Arab queen who symbolized vision, ambition and freedom.
Second wife of Palmyrean King Septimos Odaenathus, Zenobia ascended to the throne after his death and marked her reign forever as a victorious warrior queen, annexing all territories from the Bosphorus down to Egypt in 269 BC.
Zenobia ruled until she was defeated and taken as a hostage to Rome in 274 by Aurelian who was struck by her beauty, dignity, intelligence and nobleness.
Though one historian claims she committed suicide, other evidence, however, suggests that she reached Rome safely where she was made to walk in golden chains in
the Emperor’s triumph.
